AUTOZOLV DEF provides a 50% aqueous urea solution for NOx scrubbers. Going for a higher concentration of urea provides the advantage of its taking up a lesser volume in the aqueous solution. As such, smaller storage vessels can be utilized. A 50% aqueous solution is the best solution for diesel boilers. When injected into the boiler, it becomes a vapor at which point it is best for non-catalytic reduction (SNCR). For many boiler operators, urea is the preferred remedy over ammonia. This is because ammonia flash evaporates when exposed to flue gases at all dilution levels. Nevertheless, using a 50% aqueous solution of urea will not demand any high-energy lance injection systems or any additional technologies that are competent with the solution. In snowy regions, it is imperative to ensure that the 50% aqueous solution is maintained above 64°F (18°C) and regularly circulating as well due to the solution’s relative low freeze point.
